What you will be doing:

  • Designing game projects in the puzzle genre;
  • Developing game concepts, game mechanics, and core loops;
  • Working with project documentation (GDDs, One-Pagers, feature design specs);
  • Collaboration with the development team: programmers, artists, animators (creating tasks, writing specifications, reviewing results);
  • Creating and working on prototypes for new puzzle games and puzzle mechanics;
  • Being a part of the full development cycle of gameplay features, including new mechanics and game modes and improving and reworking existing solutions;
  • Working in Unity: project setup, level design, gameplay parameter configuration;
  • Calculating and setting up game balance;
  • Analyzing the puzzle games market, studying successful projects and industry trends;
  • Researching and coming up with promising ideas and mechanics for new puzzle prototypes and games.

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • 3+ years of experience in game design, preferably within the puzzle genre;
  • Experience working on successful puzzle games;
  • Deep understanding of the puzzle games industry and core gameplay patterns;
  • Sound knowledge of game design, including: game mechanics, level design, UI/UX, product metrics;
  • Strong documentation skills (GDDs, One-Pagers, design specs);
  • Experience working with Unity (setting up levels, components, configurations);
  • Understanding of product metrics and the impact of features on retention, engagement, LTV;
  • Strong competitor analysis and reference research skills;
  • Ability to deconstruct games and identify their strong and weak points;
  • Understanding of monetization principles for puzzle projects;
  • Experience leading a feature from ideation to launch;
  • Ability to quickly create hypotheses and prototype them for CPI / LTV testing;
  • Strong understanding of player engagement, game feel, and gameplay loops;
  • Team-oriented mindset, strong communication and organization skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with puzzle projects showing high LTV and strong retention;
  • Proficiency with Confluence, Jira, Git, SourceTree;
  • Experience with analytics tools: AppMetrica, GameAnalytics, Firebase;
  • Intermediate+ English.
