What you will be doing:

1. Legal Support for General Business Operations:

  • Assess risks in contracts, review terms, and negotiate agreements.
  • Draft, review, and approve commercial contracts (lease, supply, services, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and resolve disputes with partners.

2. Legal Support for Software Development (International Focus – US, EU, and Other Jurisdictions):

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate software development agreements.
  • Draft and manage licensing agreements.
  • Develop and review IP assignment contracts.

3. Intellectual Property Consulting:

  • Protect copyrights for software and digital content.
  • Register and safeguard trademarks, copyrights, and other IP rights.

4. Compliance with Data Protection Laws:

  • Advise on compliance with global data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Ensure software development aligns with international privacy standards.

5. Development and Implementation of Internal Legal Policies:

  • Assist in drafting and updating company policies, job descriptions, NDAs, and data processing regulations.

6. Monitoring Legal Changes:

  • Track legal updates affecting company operations.
  • Develop recommendations to align business processes with new regulations.

7. Other Legal Tasks:

  • Handle legal assignments from management to ensure legal protection of company interests.

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • A law degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an in-house lawyer in a private IT company.
  • Strong knowledge of Belarusian civil, tax, and intellectual property law, with practical application skills.
  • Understanding of the software lifecycle in the context of legal support, licensing, and IP assignment.
  • Hands-on experience with international IP and data protection laws, including GDPR/CCPA compliance, contract drafting, and legal dispute resolution.
  • Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency, with experience in legal analysis, contract drafting, and business correspondence.
  • Analytical thinking, responsibility, and a results-driven approach. Ability to work under pressure and stay focused in high-stress situations.
